PARK CITY, Utah – The National Meat Association’s board of directors voted to merge with the North American Meat Processors Association Aug. 6 in Park City, Utah. The NAMP Board of Directors will consider the issue at its board meeting Sept. 14, before its annual outlook conference in Del Mar, Calif.

A weekend communication from the NAMP Executive Committee said this committee and NAMP Executive Director Phil Kimball have been working with NMA on this issue since May, when it and the NMA Executive Committee decided it was in NAMP and NMA’s interests to explore the possibility, and the memberships of both associations were notified.

Between now and the September board meeting, NAMP’s executive committee is contacting NAMP board members to discuss the issue and the status of discussions.
