NEW YORK – Football legend Herschel Walker is launching a bid to open The Greatest Bulldog sports bar as part of Creative Food Group's proposal for food service concessions at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The sports bar would be operated by Creative Food Group Inc.

In 1999, Georgian native Walker started Renaissance Man Food Service (RMFS), a successful foodservice company with headquarters in Savannah, Ga. RMFS created "Herschel's Famous 34," a line of chicken and ribs that would be featured on The Greatest Bulldog menu. The menu will also feature local specialty foods native to the cities where Walker played pro ball such as Tony Luke's Cheesesteak from Philly and Botto's Sausage from New Jersey.

Atlanta is currently evaluating proposals from dozens of companies and restaurants as part of the airport's massive overhaul of its concessions, with a focus on bringing local flavor to the airport. Bids will be awarded in the near future, with construction of the selected restaurants to start in 2012.

If Creative Food Group's proposal is accepted, Walker plans to attend the grand opening of The Greatest Bulldog and visit often on his frequent travels through Hartsfield-Jackson.
