GARNER, NC –– Kabel Robbins, Ph.D., has joined Butterball LLC as staff veterinarian at the Ozark and Huntsville, Ark., facilities.

“Kabel serves as an excellent addition to the Butterball team and we look forward to utilizing his valuable knowledge and training at our facilities,” said Walter Pelletier, president of Maxwell Farms LLC and Butterball corporate secretary. “His education and background in poultry welfare and illness prevention supports Butterball’s commitment to animal health and the safe production of wholesome turkey products.”


Robbins has acquired a wealth of expertise in the agriculture and poultry production industries that will complement the company’s animal welfare practices. Robbins is responsible for ensuring the health of the turkeys through vaccination and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and treatment. He also assists the processing facility through monitoring and associated correlation.

Before joining Butterball, Robbins obtained a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Science from Kansas State Univ. as well as a Master of Specialized Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State Univ. While furthering his education, Robbins provided numerous presentations on avian medicine and obtained professional training through the Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization (PAACO).

Robbins is also board certified by the American College of Poultry Veterinarians (ACPV) and serves as a member of several industry organizations including the American Association of Avian Pathologist (AAAP), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA).
