WASHINGTON – Turkey eggs in incubators on July 1 in the United States totaled 29.1 million, down 3 percent from July 1, 2010, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Agricultural Statistics Board, US Department of Agriculture. Eggs in incubators were up 3 percent from the June 1 total of 28.2 million eggs.

During June 2011, turkey poults hatched in the US totaled 23.8 million, down 2 percent from June 2010. Poults hatched were down 1 percent from the May 2011 total of 24.1 million poults.


The 23.4 million net poults placed during June 2011 in the US were down 2 percent from the number placed during the same month a year earlier. Net placements were down 2 percent from the May 2011 total of 23.9 million.
