WASHINGTON – Al Almanza, Food Safety and Inspection Service Administrator has announced the implementation of the agency’s donning and doffing rule has been delayed until July 17, according to the Mike Brown, National Chicken Council president.

NCC had requested the implementation date be extended because of reports received from its member companies that FSIS inspection program personnel were widely inconsistent in their interpretations of the rule.

Based on information from the NCC, inconsistencies exist not only between various districts, but even within the districts.
