TUALATIN, Ore. – Pacific Natural Foods has donated 758,515 lbs. of natural and organic food to Feeding America to aid in relief efforts for the Missouri communities affected by the recent tornado, as well as the victims of this spring’s extensive flooding in Montana.

“Sharing our food, our facilities and our time to help eliminate hunger has always been an essential ingredient in doing business at Pacific,” said Tim Ramsey, vice president of sales marketing. “As communities across the US begin their rebuilding efforts, we hope our foods help provide some much needed relief.”

The company manufactures natural and organic foods in aseptic cartons, which are shelf-stable for up to a year, making them perfect for emergency food boxes. In the last seven years, Pacific has donated more than 6.3 million lbs. of food and contributed a significant amount of employee and production line time to hunger relief.

In order to get its products to the communities in need quickly, Pacific has enlisted the help of several partners including Prime Distribution, which has donated labor and time in getting the products ready for shipment, and United Natural Foods, International Paper, Mission Flavors, Con-Way, Integrity Logistics, Tetra Pak, Agropur and CH Robinson, which have all donated freight services.

Pacific Natural Foods offers a wide variety of all natural and organic food and beverages including soups, broths, frozen pizzas and pot pies.

“Among all of the products we shipped, there were some poultry items,” a company spokesperson told MEATPOULTRY.com. “These included our Free Range Organic Chicken Broth, Organic Chicken Pho Soup Starter, Organic Chicken Noodle Soup and Organic Sante Fe Style Chicken Soup.”
