JACKSON, Miss. – Sherman Miller has been named chief operating officer of Cal-Maine Foods Inc., effective May 31. Previously vice president of operations at the Chase, Kan. office, he is now responsible for all of Cal-Maine Foods’ production and processing facilities. He will report to Dolph Baker, president and CEO, and work from the Jackson corporate office.

Miller has been employed with Cal-Maine Foods for more than 14 years. He was also previously the general manager of the company’s Chase location plus served in management positions at the company’s processing plants in Delta, Utah, and Edwards, Miss. He also completed a summer internship with Cal-Maine Foods at the Edwards location prior to his college graduation.


A native of Ethel, Miss., Miller graduated from Mississippi State University in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in poultry science. He is a member of the board of the US Poultry and Egg Association.

Cal-Maine Foods Inc. is engaged producing, grading, packing and selling fresh shell eggs, including conventional, cage-free, organic and nutritionally-enhanced eggs. It is the largest producer and distributor of fresh shell eggs in the US and sells most of its shell eggs in approximately 29 states throughout the southwestern, southeastern, mid-western and mid-Atlantic regions of the US.
