VAUGHAN, Ontario – From April 7 to 13, Taco Bell Canada is informing its customers about the quality of its seasoned beef by offering free tacos at every Taco Bell location throughout Canada.

"You could say there's been a lot of talk about our beef quality lately and we thought we'd set the record straight and let Canadians taste our amazing beef tacos." said Dan Howe, chief marketing officer for Yum! Restaurants Canada, which owns the Taco Bell brand in Canada.

To get a free taco, a customer has to visit any Taco Bell in Canada between April 7 and 13 between the hours of 3 and 6 pm. "Simply say the code words: ’Taco libre’ or ask for a free taco," jokes Howe, adding that Taco Bell is limiting the offer to one taco per day, per customer.

Taco Bell's Free Taco Week is an opportunity to share the facts about Taco Bell beef quality: the company starts with real ground beef and simmers it with it's "not-so-secret" signature recipe of seasonings, spices, water and other ingredients to provide Taco Bell's signature taste and texture, Howe said. The seasoned beef recipe for Taco Bell tacos is 88% beef and 12% seasonings and other ingredients.

"We stand behind the quality of our beef – and want to share the facts with Canadians," he added. "Throughout April, we're airing TV ads that share the story of Taco Bell's beef quality – and we're also sharing the facts with Taco Bell fans at our restaurants across the country."

Earlier this tear, Taco Bell in the United States took out full-page ads throughout the US, shared the facts about Taco Bell's beef quality on YouTube and offered free tacos for its Facebook followers.
