LANSING, Ill. – David Funk has joined Land O’Frost in the newly created position of senior vice president of sales and marketing. Before joining Land O’Frost, Funk had a 22-year career at Ralcorp Holdings, which spun off from Ralston Purina in 1994. Most recently, he served as a member of that company’s strategic planning team and vice president of sales for The Carriage House Companies, a leading US manufacturer of private-label foods. Before joining Ralcorp, Funk was employed for nine years at Swift-Eckrich in the company’s sales organization.

“Dave brings Land O’Frost more than 30 years of intensive sales and marketing and management experience working with top-tier companies,” said David Van Eekeren, Land O’Frost president and CEO. “He has a proven track record growing brands and will be an excellent addition to our talented senior management team already in place. He knows our industry well and will bring Land O’Frost many fresh perspectives that will allow us to continue to innovate and grow.”

Funk will help develop strategies to support Land O’Frost’s goal to double the company’s size by 2014. Creating additional synergies between the sales and marketing functions and evaluating strategic growth initiatives for the company are among his responsibilities.

Land O’Frost manufactures sliced packaged luncheon meats, and is the largest family owned brand of packaged deli meat in the US. It also manufactures specialty meat products sold to restaurants and major food manufacturers. It operates three facilities in Lansing, Ill., Madisonville, Ky., and Searcy, Ark.
