COMMERCE, Calif. – Food Safety Net Services (FSNS) plans to commemorate the opening of its A2LA Laboratory opening in Los Angeles, Calif., by hosting a food-safety conference followed by a laboratory tour and reception. These events will take place Dec. 9. The conference will be held at the Double Tree Commerce Hotel in Commerce, Calif. The laboratory tour, ribbon cutting and reception will take place at the new FSNS LA Laboratory at 6281 Chalet Dr., Commerce, Calif.

Temple Grandin, Ph.D., professor of animal science, Colorado State Univ., is the conference keynote speaker. Grandin is a best-seller author, consultant to the livestock industry on animal behavior and a long-time columnist for Meat&Poultry magazine. She is listed in the 2010 Time 100 list of the 100 most influential people in the world in the category "Heroes."
