KANSAS CITY, Mo. – In a Web news story titled “Cargill responds to Labor Dept. hiring allegations” posted byMeatPoultry.com on Nov. 29, the DOL stated Cargill Meat Solutions currently held contracts in excess of $550 million with the US Dept. of Defense. DOL has updated this information and the contracts total at least $60 million.

“That [higher] number reflects some contracts that have since closed and are no longer current,” DOL explained in its update.
