CLINTON, Iowa – A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of FFC, Flav's Fried Chicken, was held Jan. 24 in Clinton, Iowa. William Drayton Jr., better known as hip-hop and reality star Flavor Flav – Public Enemy’s hypeman, is a partner in his first-time venture as a restauranteur, according to Y Music. Opening a chain restaurant his been a life-long dream.

Specially seasoned fried chicken recipe, ribs, greens, and macaroni and cheese are featured on FFC’s menu.

Flav partnered with Nick Cimino to establish FFC, and he already had a business relationship with Cimino's brother, Peter, who owns Mama Cimino's pizzeria in Las Vegas, which sells Flavor Flav's 99-cent wings.

Nick Cimino had the idea to create restaurant anchored by Flav's recipe. What separates his chicken from competitors Kentucky Fried Chicken, Popeye's, Church's and others is he seasons his meat first and then the meat seasons the flour.

Flav is an old hand at cooking as he was raised watching his mother and sisters cook at their family restaurant, the Soul Diner. He actually earned a culinary degree in cheffing in 1978 and had also worked as a head cook at the Nassau County Court House as well as at Uniondale High School, both in Long Island, N.Y.
