WASHINGTON, Ind. – Perdue Inc., through the Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, recently presented a $10,000 grant to the Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service to support the continuing education programs at the Daviess County Latino Learning Center in Washington. This move builds upon Perdue’s ongoing support of education and improving quality of life in the communities in which it operates,

Marc Maynard, director of operations at Perdue's Washington, Ind., turkey processing complex, presented the donation to Jennifer Stefancik, Purdue University Extension educator for Daviess County, and Lynne Kiesel, facilitator for the Latino Community Learning Center.

“The Latino Learning Center has a proven track record of providing positive life changes for Latinos and training to help them obtain employment and earn promotions within the local business community," Maynard said. "In fact, a number of associates at Perdue have directly benefitted from the Learning Center training programs."

“We are so grateful for Perdue's support to continue providing valuable online life skills training for the Latino community," Kiesel said. "These educational opportunities help enhance the personal and professional abilities of members of the Latino community while improving their quality of living as well as personal and financial independence."
