WASHINGTON — On Oct. 20, the $42.8 billion 2010 Homeland Security Conference Report was approved by the Senate. This includes a three-year extension of E-Verify and $137 million to operate the system and further improve its accuracy and compliance rates, according to the American Meat Institute.

The bill now awaits approval from President Obama. Last week, the House approved the bill 307 to 114.
