MCLEAN, VA.– The Foundation of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (F.F.P.S.A.) selected recipients for 10 $3,000 Career Development Scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Scholarship winners include family members of employees at F.P.S.A. member companies Burd & Fletcher, Fristam Pumps, The Haskell Company, Lubriplate Lubricants, Marlen International, RathGibson, REISER and Stork Townsend.

“We are proud to support the educational efforts of member companies’ employees and their family members,” said Jan Kuhlmann, chairman of the Foundation of F.P.S.A. and president of Multivac Inc. “With these scholarships, the F.P.S.A. Foundation is committed to helping these individuals achieve their career goals.”

In 2005, the Foundation of F.P.S.A. established the Career Development Scholarship Program as a unique benefit to F.P.S.A. members. It is designed to promote the career and professional development of F.P.S.A. member employees who work full time and their immediate family members.

Since its inception in 1983, the F.P.S.A. Foundation has focused on supporting the growth of the food industry. It has since touched the lives of more than 2,000 individuals in the early years of their careers through its grants, scholarships and stipends. Many of these individuals are now employed in food and dairy science programs in the nation's universities, in major food, dairy and beverage processing companies, and, in some cases, in F.P.S.A. member companies.

The Food Processing Suppliers Association is a global trade association serving suppliers in the food and beverage industries.
