WASHINGTON – During June, broiler-type chicks hatched totaled 787 million, up 2% from June 2009, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Agricultural Statistics Board, U.S. Department of Agriculture. On July 1, eggs in incubators totaled 652 million, up 3% from a year earlier.

Leading breeders placed 7.59 million broiler-type pullet chicks for future domestic hatchery supply flocks during June, up 6% from June 2009.
