NEW YORK — Pet food company Beggin’ has announced the launch of its fourth annual Battle of the Beggin’, inviting dog owners nationwide to vote for their favorite limited-edition flavor to join Beggin’s permanent lineup. This year’s competition features pitmasters Myron Mixon and Rodney Scott, each representing a different barbecue-inspired treat flavor.

Five-time world barbecue champion and BBQ Hall of Famer Mixon is representing Team Bacon & Beef Brisket, while BBQ Hall of Famer Scott leads Team Bacon & Pork Spare Ribs. Both limited-edition flavors are designed to bring the savory BBQ flavors that humans love to their pups.

“There is nothing quite like the joy of barbecuing, I take great pride in crafting deep, smoky flavors that unite people,” Mixon said. “With Bacon & Beef Brisket Beggin’ treats, you can extend that same delight to your dog. I’m thrilled to partner with Beggin’ for Battle of the Beggin’ because it combines my love of bold flavors with a fun way to celebrate dogs, including my dog, Roxie.”

Scott added, “Battle of the Beggin’ is unlike any competition I’ve ever done, and I’m looking forward to bringing my passion for barbecue to a fun battle that lets dogs be the ultimate judge. I know dogs are going to love the rich, smoky flavors of Bacon & Pork Spare Ribs Beggin’ treats.”

From now until Sept. 30, dog owners can cast their votes on the battle’s website. The winning flavor will join Beggin’s permanent lineup next year and be available at retail stores nationwide.
