WASHINGTON — Thibodaux, La.-based Bourgeois Smokehouse is recalling 100 lbs of ready-to-eat (RTE) smoked andouille sausage products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, announced the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on May 20.

While FSIS was performing routine product testing, the agency confirmed that the andouille sausages were positive for Listeria.

The RTE products were produced on May 12, 2025. All items were weighed, wrapped and labeled in-store at the time of purchase.

The products do not bear an establishment number or the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to Rouses Market retail locations in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

The andouille sausages have been available for purchase since May 13, 2025.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products, according to FSIS.
