HATTIESBURG, MISS. — Poultry processor Mar-Jac Poultry confirmed this week that it reached one million man-hours without experiencing a lost-time incident.
“Our employees are the backbone of our success, and their dedication to safety is truly remarkable,” said Joe Colee, complex manager at Mar-Jac Poultry, Hattiesburg, Miss. “This milestone is a testament to the strong safety culture we’ve built together.”
Mar-Jac explained the accomplishment happened because of a focus on proactive safety programs, employee training, thorough hazard assessments and leadership initiatives.
"Reaching one million man-hours without a lost-time incident is not just about numbers — it reflects the real, everyday actions and vigilance of our employees," Colee stated. "We look forward to celebrating this tremendous achievement and continuing to prioritize the well-being of every member of the Mar-Jac family."
To celebrate the mark, Mar-Jac plans to hold a Family Safety Celebration on May 31 at the Hattiesburg Zoo.
The poultry processor runs various operations in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.
