WASHINGTON – Recent election records indicated that a major poultry processor was the largest donor to President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.

Filings from the Federal Election Commission stated Pilgrim’s Pride Corp., made a $5 million donation to the Trump Vance Inaugural Committee.

“As a US-based food company, Pilgrim’s was pleased to support the 2025 inauguration ceremony,” a company spokesperson told MEAT+POULTRY. “We have a long bipartisan history of participating in the civic process and look forward to working with the administration to create opportunities for American farmers and provide safe, affordable food for American families.”

Pilgrim’s Pride, based in Greeley, Colo., is a subsidiary of JBS SA, which owns a majority stake in the company.

The total amount of money raised by the Trump inaugural committee was $239 million, according to FEC records, more than double what was raised in his first inauguration in 2017.

Pilgrim’s Pride currently trades on the NASDAQ exchange (PPC). JBS is taking steps to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange later this year.
