MIAMI — Young American Food Brands, also known as Miami Beef, announced on April 18 the acquisition of Newark, NJ-based Best Provision Co. Inc., a processor of premium smoked and cooked meats.
Best Provision produces smoked beef franks, roast beef, pastrami, corned beef, beef bacon, bologna and other specialty items.
“We’re excited to welcome Best Provision to the Young American family,” said Robert Young, chief executive officer of Young American. “Best has built strong ties with its community, employees, and customers — relationships we’re committed to preserving and growing through continued investment in its Newark, NJ facility.”
With the acquisition of Best Provision, Young American noted it made its fourth acquisition since 2022.
Young American expects Best Provision to play an important role in developing better-for-you offerings including grass-fed cooked products.
“Our goal is to accelerate Best’s growth and expand its reach into new markets and retail channels,” Young stated. “With the Newark plant just four hours from our Syracuse facility, this acquisition enhances our strategic footprint and adds valuable capacity to support our growing product line.”
Additionally, Young American will use Best’s smoking expertise for smoked snack and smoked beef segments. Some products include newly launched Wagyu sausages and brisket burgers.
In 2024, Young American acquired Hofmann Sausage Co. The company made a similar move in 2023 by acquiring Brooklyn Burger and Devault Foods.
Since the Hofmann acquisition, Young added a new processing line at the plant, doubling the production at the facility.
