ARLINGTON, VA. — On March 17, Nestlé USA confirmed a recall with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Lean Cuisine and Stouffer frozen meals due to the possible presence of a wood-like material.
The company said the recall is limited to a quantity of batches for the following items:
- Lean Cuisine Butternut Squash Ravioli
- Lean Cuisine Spinach Artichoke Ravioli
- Lean Cuisine Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry
- Stouffer’s Party Size Chicken Lasagna
Nestlé stated the items were distributed to major retailers around the United States between Sept. 2024 and March 2025.
The company explained it was taking this action after consumers contacted them about the issue, including one potential choking incident to date.
Batch codes can be identified on the side of the packaged products. The full list of batch numbers are available here.
Nestlé confirmed it’s working with the FDA and the US Department of Agriculture on the recall and will fully cooperate.
“We are actively investigating the source of the wood-like material,” Nestlé said. “We are confident that this is an isolated issue, and we have taken action to address it.”
