OTTAWA, ONTARIO — The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced a Feb. 19 recall of chicken breast nuggets from a Swiss Chalet brand produced by Olymel due to extraneous materials, specifically bone.
The agency confirmed that injuries have been associated with the consumption of the product.
CFIA will conduct a food safety investigation, which could lead to the recall of other products. It noted that people should not consume, serve, sell or distribute recalled products.
The recalled chicken products came in at the size of 700 grams with the UPC 066701011479 and codes BB 2025 SE 07 and BB 2025 SE 26.
The agency did not specify when the products were produced but noted that this was a nationwide recall.
“Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased,” CFIA said.
