ATLANTA, GA. — Mohawk Industries sold its 342,352 sq. ft. building on 35 acres in Dahlonega, Ga., for $2.1 million to Gold Creek Food, a subsidiary of Agora Foods, which supplies poultry to restaurants, institutions and grocery stores, according to Binswanger, the real estate organization representing Mohawk Industries.

Gold Creek is expanding its operations and will use the plant for chicken processing and cooking.

Gold Creek Foods is also starting renovations needed for specialty equipment used in the further processing of poultry. The company plans to eventually employ as many as 1,000 people in Dahlonega.

Since 1955, Mohawk Industries used the facility in Dahlonega as a carpet yarn spinning facility.
