GREELEY, COLO. — JBS USA announced that Wesley and Joesley Batista are joining the Pilgrim’s Pride board of directors.

The JBS Nominating Committee appointed the Batista brothers, who are the largest shareholders of Pilgrim’s Pride through their shareholding interest in JBS, to replace Wesley Batista Filho, chief executive officer of JBS USA, and Joanita Maestri Karoleski, president for the JBS Amazon Fund. Members of the board unanimously approved the committee’s decision.

“The Pilgrim’s board of directors welcomes the new members and looks forward to their continued contributions to the success of the company,” a JBS spokesperson said.

Wesley and Joesley have decades of operational and management experience in the food industry. Both are globally recognized for their business acumen and ability to deliver long term results, including active participation in the performance turnaround at Pilgrim’s post-bankruptcy, JBS said.
