OOSTZAAN, NETHERLANDS — Poultry processing solutions company Meyn, a subsidiary of CTB Inc., introduced a new in-line thigh deboner in response to a rise in demand of dark meat chicken.

The Physic In-Line Thigh Deboner M1.0 features a compact two-carousel footprint of 377 square feet with the capability to convert 15,000 whole legs into boneless thigh fillets per hour, with or without the skin on. With thigh deboning carousels integrated within the cut-up line, the solution can bypass legs based on weight and quality.

“Our unique, patent pending deboning technology delivers the highest number of bone and cartilage-free products, requiring the least number of people for inspection and trimming and no manual loading or additional re-hangers are required,” said Jeroen Bohm, product director at Meyn.

Meyn said the deboning solution saves operators from the equivalent of 33 workers per shift manually deboning.

When paired with the Meyn Distribution Manager software, the Physic produces wings, first joints, midwings, legs, thighs, drumsticks and deboned dark meat in exact quantities.
