DALLAS – The Annual Meat Conference (AMC) 2023 commenced on March 6 and was in person for first time in three years. Over 1,500 meat industry professionals attend the conference, which runs through March 8. Two major players in the case-ready pork arena, Seaboard Foods, Merriam, Kan., and Tyson Fresh Meats, Springdale, Ark., introduced new fresh pork products for the meat case.

Tyson’s All Natural Premium Pork features cuts like bone-in and boneless loins, pork sirloin and pork shoulder butt to offer consumers a case-ready pork option from the Tyson brand. Seaboard’s new line is Prairie Fresh USA Prime.

Seaboard’s Prairie Fresh USA Prime uses a three-step evaluation process with proprietary technology to measure and sort high quality cuts for tenderness, marbling and color attributes.

“Prairie Fresh USA Prime is as close as we have come to pork perfection,” said Pat Watkins, vice president, retail sales, Seaboard Foods.” We are excited to introduce this one-of-a-kind premium line of pork to meat buyers and share how we manage every step in our process and are bringing something truly unique to meet consumer demand.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience two of the Tyson case ready pork brands, Chairman’s Reserve Meats and Open Prairie Natural Meats. The Chairman’s Reserve Prime Pork brings restaurant-quality pork to the self-serve meat case. Open Prairie Natural Meats’ dual-protein case ready line offers consumers a natural protein choice.

“At Tyson Foods, we pride ourselves on understanding the market drivers for beef and pork to create real solutions for our customers,” said Kent Harrison, vice president of fresh meats marketing and premium programs. “This year, we are excited to showcase a few of our newest solutions at the Annual Meat Conference. We can’t wait to hear what our customers think and look forward to continuing to supply them with the tools and insights they need to build their fresh meats sales.”

Both companies plan to reap the benefits of consumers continuing to seek production claims and label attributes when deciding to purchase.
