MUNSTER, IND. — Ambassador Meats, a sausage and hot dog brand of Land O’ Frost Inc., announced recently that it would partner with the US Pond Hockey Championship for a second consecutive year.

The event started on Jan. 20, marking the first of two weekends of tournament play.

“Ambassador and the US Pond Hockey Championships are both well-known Minnesota gatherings worth celebrating,” said Rich Carlson, senior brand manager at Land O’ Frost. “Both have deep connections to the local community and traditions, making the partnership a perfect match!”

The company plans to feature its air-powered hot dog cannon in 2023 to launch hot dogs into the sky and commemorate the start of the hockey championships.

Players, spectators and families will have a chance to win free hot dogs for a year and other Ambassador-branded prizes. Throughout the tournament, Ambassador’s Old Fashioned Wieners and Smoked Bratwurst will be sold at the concessions.

“We’re thrilled to have Ambassador again this year as the Championship Rink and Official Hot Dog sponsor,” said Jody Delorit, event producer for WOW Factor Sports and owner of US Pond Hockey Championships. “The partnership between Ambassador and US Pond Hockey Championships is unique for many reasons, especially for our shared interest in tradition and community in our home state of Minnesota.”

MEAT+POULTRY interviewed Clint Yonkers last year about Land O’Frost’s decision to jump on the ice with the US Pond Hockey Championship.

The company said Ambassador Meats has roots in Minnesota dating back to 1932.
