CLINTON, IOWA — On Dec. 28, Grow Clinton, an economic development organization, announced that Nestlé Purina PetCare will expand its pet food plant in the area. The company will invest $110 million in the project and create 15 new jobs for the Clinton region.

The project will add automated warehousing technology to Purina’s facility to help support its continued growth. In October, the company completed a $156 million expansion of the plant, increasing its capacity and capabilities.

“Nestlé Purina’s continued investment in the Greater Clinton Region is proof that our area boasts a business-friendly environment with the infrastructure and resources necessary to be successful,” said Andy Sokolovich, president and chief executive officer of Grow Clinton. “The company hosts a positive culture focused on the wellbeing of its team, our community, and the manufacturing of quality pet food. I am privileged to have the opportunity to work with their staff, supporting yet another milestone for the Clinton facility.”

Purina also operates facilities in Fort Dodge and Davenport, employing a total of about 1,370 people throughout Iowa.
