WASHINGTON — Menu19 LLC, based in Modesto, Calif., is recalling approximately 5,000 lbs of frozen beef dumpling products that were produced without federal inspection, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Nov. 9.

The following products, which were produced in November 2020 through Oct. 23, 2022, are subject to the recall:

  • 1.5-lb cartons containing 12 pieces of “Mantu menu19” and UPC code: 86000524010.

Because the products were produced without a federal inspection, there is no USDA mark of inspection.

FSIS discovered the problem while conducting routine surveillance in retail stores. The agency determined that the Mantu beef dumpling products lacked the USDA mark of inspection and that they were produced by a company that was not a federally inspected establishment.

The dumplings were distributed to restaurant and retail locations in California. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the products.
