NEW ORLEANS — Zatarain’s Smoked Sausage announced an expansion to its product line, the new Blackened Seasoned Chicken Smoked Sausage, inspired by the Cajun-themed food company’s Blackened Chicken offering.

Blackened Seasoned Chicken joins Zatarain’s line of Andouille and Cajun smoked sausage, which were launched in 2019.

Seasoned with paprika, black and red pepper, oregano, and thyme, the Andouille, Cajun and Blackened Seasoned Chicken Smoked Sausages pair well with iconic New Orleans dishes like jambalaya, red beans and rice, and gumbo, Zatarain’s said.

“People inherently trust the Zatarain’s brand,” said Claude Davis, principal scientist for Zatarain’s. “They know that when you cook with a Zatarain’s product, it is going to amp up the flavor of the dish and make meals more fun and exciting. It’s exciting to see how people have become attached to our Andouille and Cajun smoked sausages, and now with our blackened chicken-inspired sausage there is something new to use in preparing delicious, flavorful meals.”

According to the company, Zatarain’s Blackened Seasoned Chicken Smoked Sausage is free of antibiotics, artificial colors and flavors, by-products, and gluten.

The smoked sausage line is available in select retail locations, including Kroger, Walmart, Sam’s Club and Food Lion, across the country.
