GREELEY, COLO. – Swift Prepared Foods, a subsidiary of JBS USA, recently shared an update on its Principe Italian Meats line of products and where it would be produced in the US.

The company stated that Principe will be part of the previously announced $200 million new Italian meats and charcuterie production facility in Columbia, Mo. Swift expects the new facility to be open by December 2022.

“Since 1945, Principe has combined its Italian heritage with true craftsmanship to deliver the best Italian meats and charcuterie in the world,” Swift said in a statement. “To meet growing consumer demand for great-tasting, high-quality Italian meats and charcuterie, Principe is opening a new facility, combining old world traditions with innovative recipes, and expanding the authentic artisan offerings of Principe in the United States.”

JBS acquired Italian deli meat manufacturer Grupo King’s for 82 million euros ($92.5 million) in December 2021, which included the Principe brand.

Swift Prepared Foods currently operates six production facilities in Booneville, Miss.; Elkhart, Ind.; Council Bluffs, Iowa; Ottumwa, Iowa; and Swanton, Vt. The company’s also opened up ready-to-eat bacon facility in Moberly, Mo during 2021.
