WASHINGTON – Lakeside Refrigerated Services, a business unit of Thomas Foods International USA, based in Swedesboro, NJ, recalled 120,872 lbs of ground beef, produced between Feb. 1, 2022, and April 8, 2022, over concerns that the products may be contaminated by E. coli O103, the US Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on April 25.
The list of products included in the recall are listed here. The products, which were shipped to retail customers nationwide, are labeled with establishment number “EST. 46841” inside the USDA mark of inspection.
The FSIS said the possible contamination was discovered during its testing of imported products, adding that it isn’t uncommon for labs to not test for the strain of E. coli because it is more difficult to identify than Shiga toxin-producing E. coli O157:H7.
There have been no reports of illness related to the consumption of the products.
