CELAYA, MEXICO – Industrias Bachoco, a leading poultry processor in Mexico, announced the company closed its acquisition of RYC Alimentos, a multi-protein meat processor and distributor with facilities in Puebla, Mexico. The stockholder’s equity of this company is valued at approximately $61 million, Bachoco said.

The deal includes two processing plants in Puebla and approximately 21 stores located in four states of the Mexican Republic — Puebla, Oaxaca, Veracruz and Tlaxcala. RYC produces and sells further- processed and value-added products, with net sales of roughly $150 million per year.

Founded in 1983, RYC is a meat processor and distributor mainly of beef, pork and chicken. The company employs more than 900 people.

Industrias Bachoco is a vertically integrated company with headquarters in Celaya, Guanajuato, in Central Mexico. The company’s main business includes chickens, eggs, balanced feed, swine and other products. Bachoco owns and manages more than 1,000 facilities, organized in nine complexes and 80 distribution centers in Mexico, and a complex in the United States. Currently, Bachoco employs more than 29,000 people.
