ST. JOSEPH, MO. – The St. Joseph City Council recently approved $55 million in Chapter 100 revenue bonds to be used for various upgrades at the city’s Tyson Foods-owned meat manufacturing facility. The plant currently processes Ball Park Franks and deli meats for Hillshire Brands.

According to information from the St. Joseph Economic Development Partnership, Tyson plans to expand the plant and invest in new equipment at the facility to accommodate a new product line.

After the capital investments are completed, as many as 150 jobs are expected to be added at the facility. The plant currently employs 711 workers.
