FREDERICKSBURG, PA. – Bell & Evans, a supplier of processed air-chilled chicken raised without antibiotics, announced that it would be adding a family-size resealable bag for its popular Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets.
The poultry company said this decision was part of celebrating the 20th anniversary of the product. Bell & Evans Breaded Chicken Breast nuggets are made with whole-muscle breast meat chunks of chicken. The chunks are brined, battered and lightly breaded.
The breading in the nuggets is then set in expeller-pressed organic soybean oil from 100% US-sourced organic soybeans, and the nuggets are nitrogen frozen to lock in the freshness and flavor. The nuggets from Bell & Evans are sold as raw, frozen product that consumers cook at home for the first time.
"Chicken nuggets have a bad reputation for being overly processed, especially many of the new ‘healthier’-marketed versions, but that's not the case with Bell & Evans Nuggets," said Scot Sechler, owner of Bell & Evans. "We're very proud of our simple, real Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets."
Other areas in poultry production Bell & Evans highlighted were its 100% air chilled processing for meat tenderization and to preserve natural juices and flavor. Products are also X-rayed twice for bone detection, once as a whole breast and again as whole breast chunks, for superior quality assurance.
The 30-oz resealable bags are something that consumers have requested according to Bell & Evans. The adhesive reseal technology allows for customers to open and reseal the bag many times and collapse the bag as it is used to reduce freezer space.
Bell & Evans said the new bags are starting to be rolled out now and will hit Whole Foods shelves nationwide by November.
