OTTAWA, ONTARIO — Chilliwack, British Columbia-based Meadow Valley Meats launched a recall of the company’s turkey breakfast sausage because the items contain milk, which is not declared on the ingredient label, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said. There have been no reported reactions associated with the product.

Meadow Valley Meats triggered the recall, and the CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. The agency is verifying that industry is removing the recalled product from commerce. 

The items subject to the recall include 5-lb packages bearing lot numbers starting with 210331, 210525, and 210604. The breakfast sausages were sold in British Columbia.
