GREELEY, COLO.– JBS USA, a subsidiary of JBS SA, confirmed that a worker passed away following an accidental fall at its Greeley beef processing plant on March 27.

“On Saturday, a tragic accident occurred at our Greeley plant resulting in the death of one of our team members,” JBS said in a statement. “We are deeply saddened, and our thoughts and prayers are with our team member, his family, co-workers and friends.”

The company said it is working closely with OSHA and local officials to investigate the incident and thanked emergency personnel who responded quickly to the situation.

KDVR in Denver reported that the Greeley Fire Department responded to the call early Saturday where they found co-workers who had extricated the man and attempted treatment. He was then taken to a local hospital.

JBS said it would not have any further comment out of respect for the worker and his family. Local officials have not identified the person.
