OTTAWA, ONTARIO — Canadians are now being provided with a one-stop, easy access to food-safety information thanks to a new web site launched by the Government of Canada. The site provides Canadians valuable tips and tools to help them reduce the risk of foodborne illness and acts as a gateway to important information during foodborne illness emergencies.

The website includes information from Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. Located at healthycanadians.gc.ca, the web site offers a broad range of food-safety information including resources on food recalls and allergy alerts, safe food handling and preparation, food labels, and foodborne illness.

In addition to signing up for e-mail alerts through the website, consumers can easily report their own food-safety concerns. New mobile and social media tools are available to help Canadians stay informed about food safety.

Subscribe to RSS updates for food recalls and allergy alerts. They will be delivered to your RSS reader. Consumers can follow the Canadian Food Inspection Agency for food recalls and allergy alerts.
