JACKSONVILLE, FLA. — Bubba Foods LLC has entered into an agreement to purchase an Armour-Eckrich production plant in Hastings, Neb. The purchase is scheduled to close at the beginning of March with renovations scheduled to be completed and the plant being operational by mid-summer.

Bubba Foods produces and sells the BUBBA burger, the number-one branded burger in the U.S. that is a premium, frozen burger made from 100% U.S.D.A. Choice chucks, according to the company.


Bubba Foods also owns and operates a production facility in Elberton, Ga., which is undergoing a $7,700,000 expansion to double the size of the plant. Adding the Hastings plant will provide support for the growing demand for BUBBA burgers in the central and west coast markets of the U.S.

The company plans to invest more than $11,000,000 in the acquisition and renovation of the Hastings plant. With the plant expansion in Elberton, Ga. and acquiring the Hastings, Neb. plant, Bubba Foods LLC is investing more than $18,700,000 in the future of the BUBBA burger.

Once at full production, Bubba Foods estimates that more than 200 jobs will be created at the Hastings plant generating a payroll of more than $7,000,000. The location of Hastings, Neb. plant will allow Bubba Foods more immediate access to raw material in the region. Bubba Foods' corporate policy is to purchase packaging and plant materials with the assistance of local suppliers.
