PLANO, TEXAS – On Jan. 26, Pizza Hut LLC announced the launch of its new Detroit-Style pizza nationwide. Pizza Hut spent more than a year developing the on-trend product and tested over 500 iterations, many in the Midwest where the style was born. The company also tested eight different versions of vine-ripened tomato sauce for the signature Detroit style.

The rectangular-shaped pizza features cheese all the way to the sides of the dish to achieve a crisp and caramelized crust. Customers can choose from four different recipes including Detroit Double Pepperoni topped with 32 slices of regular pepperoni and another 48 slices cupped pepperoni, which crisp up in the oven to provide a crunchy texture, Double Cheesy layered with two kinds of cheese, including aged parmesan, Meaty Deluxe with bacon, Italian sausage and cupped Pepperoni, and Supremo topped with Italian sausage, red onions and green bell peppers.

“Countless hours were spent testing and perfecting every detail here to create our take on Detroit-Style pizza,” said David Graves, chief brand officer, Pizza Hut. “The caramelized cheese crust and the sauce on top take the taste of this pizza to the next level.”

All four recipes are available at Pizza Hut locations nationwide starting at $10.99 for contactless delivery, carryout or curbside pickup.
