EL SEGUNDO, CALIF. – Beyond Meat Inc. announced on Sept. 21 it will double retail distribution of the Beyond Breakfast Sausage. The meat alternative company said it was expanding to select Super Target, Kroger, Walmart, Publix and Harris Teeter stores around the United States.

“Following the initial release of our Beyond Breakfast Sausage Patties at retailers earlier this year, we heard an enthusiastic and overwhelmingly positive response from consumers who asked for increased availability,” said Chuck Muth, chief growth officer, Beyond Meat. “We’re thrilled to be able to make delicious and nutritious plant-based meat with no GMOs more available nationwide, giving our consumers another convenient option to Go Beyond any time of day.”

Beyond Breakfast Sausage features a blend of pea, mung bean, rice and sunflower protein, with flavor notes of sage and nutmeg. The company said the patties are designed to taste like pork breakfast sausage patties.

Beyond Meat binds plant-based proteins, fats and minerals to create a structure similar to beef or pork. The company uses no gluten, soy or bioengineered ingredients in its products. Products are currently at 26,000 retail locations in the United States.
