TORONTO – Tim Hortons announced an improved breakfast sandwich will be served at its restaurants.

“We're excited that today we’re launching an amazing new crispier, naturally smoked bacon that we know guests are going to love, along with a delicious new fluffy English muffin for our breakfast sandwiches,” said Hope Bagozzi, chief marketing officer for Tim Hortons.

The food upgrades are part of the company’s “Back to Basics” strategy announced in February. The strategy includes a commitment to make Tim Hortons’ menu free from colors and flavors from artificial sources. The chain also said it would implement new training and standards to improve the consistency and quality of breakfast offerings, such as buttering each breakfast sandwich to enhance taste.

“More Canadians eat breakfast at Tim Hortons than any other restaurant and we take pride in providing convenient, high-quality and affordable options for Canadians on the go,” Bagozzi said.
