DALLAS – On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina announced on Jan. 9 that it will add Beyond Beef, a plant-based meat alternative from Beyond Meat, to menu items like enchiladas, nachos and unlimited Beyond Meat Tacos as part of its Endless Tacos offer.

The offer will run until March 8. Customers can try the Beyond Meat Taco that features 100 percent plant-based ground Beyond Beef seasoned like On The Border's seasoned ground beef. It is topped with shredded cheese, lettuce and pico de gallo.

"The Beyond Meat Taco and Beyond Beef offer our guests even more protein options for our classic menu items," said Edithann Ramey, chief marketing officer for On The Border. "Guests are incorporating more plant-based protein options into their diet and we want to meet their needs with the same bold border-style flavors."

Beyond Meat makes other plant protein alternatives like meatballs, chicken strips and tenders, beef crumbles and burger patties. The products are made with soy or pea protein, and are free of gluten, dairy, trans fats, cholesterols and GMO ingredients.
