LEXINGTON, KY. — Italian fast-casual brand Fazoli’s announced that it will test market Impossible Foods’ plant-based meat sauce at five locations near its headquarters in Lexington.

Beginning Dec. 16, Fazoli’s will combine the meat alternative, made from its meatless Impossible Burger, into two Italian menu items.

Rick Petralia, director of culinary Innovation at Fazoli’s, said the company worked on developing a plant-based meat that appeals to carnivores. The Italian chain concluded that the Impossible meat sauce appeals to its guests’ diverse appetites and is in line with its goal of delivering what it refers to as “craveable” flavors.

For a limited time, guests can order the Impossible Spaghetti made with tomatoes, garlic and basil. Their Impossible Baked Spaghetti will also be available, which is made with Impossible Burger, tomatoes, garlic and basil, topped with Mozzarella cheese and baked.
