MILFORD, Conn. – Subway Restaurants is adding four foodservice industry veterans to its leadership team. Carrie Walsh has been named chief marketing officer of Subway Restaurants North America; Aidan Hay has been named vice president of North American operations; Robin Seward has been named senior vice president of marketing strategy and planning; and Bill McCane has been named new vice president of global development.

In her new role as CMO of Subway Restaurants North America, Walsh is tasked with driving the brand’s North America marketing and advertising strategy as well as defining global brand standards and marketing strategies throughout Subway’s international markets.

Walsh joins Subway from The Michaels Cos. Inc., where she was senior vice president of marketing for the past three years. Before that, she spent a year as senior vice president of marketing for the nonprofit organization Susan G. Komen. Prior to her time there, Walsh spent three and a half years at Yum! Brands Inc. in leadership roles for the Pizza Hut brand, including CMO and vice president of marketing for the US divisions. Earlier in her career, Walsh worked with PepsiCo Inc. for seven and a half years, most recently as senior director of portfolio strategy and marketing. During her time with PepsiCo, she was also senior marketing director and brand manager for SunChips, national account manager for Frito-Lay and Walgreens, and associate brand manager for Frito-Lay.

Hay, new vice president of North American operations for Subway, will be responsible for developing “strategic company initiatives that drive restaurant and operational excellence,” Subway said.

Hay joins Subway from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, owned by Jollibee Foods Corp., where he was senior vice president of operations for nearly three years. Previously, he spent 12 years with Yum! Brands in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as vice president of global operations for Pizza Hut. During his tenure with Yum!, he was also regional senior director of Pizza Hut operations in Asia Pacific, director of new business development, senior operations manager and franchise operations manager for Pizza Hut.

As senior vice president of marketing strategy and planning for Subway, Seward will oversee all marketing planning for the US, including sponsorships, partnerships, menu structure and design, and the marketing calendar.

Seward was most recently CMO and vice president of marketing for Schlotzsky’s Austin Eatery at Focus Brands. Before that, she was CMO for Rita’s Italian Ice for more than three years, and earlier she was vice president of brand marketing for Arby’s Restaurant Group Inc. Previously, Seward was director of brand activation and local marketing for Carrabba’s Italian Grill, a restaurant chain owned by Bloomin’ Brands, Inc. Earlier in her career, Seward spent 10 years with Burger King Corp. as director of global product marketing and innovation.

As the new vice president of global development for Subway, McCane will spearhead Subway’s development strategies, including overseeing the execution of company programs to create new corporate partnerships.

McCane was most recently chief operations officer at For Eyes by Grandvision. His career includes senior leadership positions for Burger King, Tim Hortons and MAACO Auto Body.
