SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Five Tyson Foods employees at a Springdale, Arkansas, poultry plant were hospitalized on June 18 after a cleaning agent was spilled.

A Tyson Foods spokesman said the workers were sent to the hospital for evaluation in the morning.

“We’re investigating an incident involving a cleaning material that happened outside our Berry St. poultry plant in Springdale, Tuesday morning,” a Tyson spokesperson said in an email. “We’re thankful for the quick response of Springdale emergency services who helped us address the situation.”

Tyson did not know what cleaning agent spilled when asked.

Tyson said that around1,200 employees work at the poultry plant in Northwest Arkansas.
