BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Walmart Inc. has named Sara Mortimore vice president, Global Food Safety Compliance, effective May 13.

Mortimore joins Walmart from Land O’Lakes where she was vice president, Product Safety, Quality and Regulatory Affairs in charge of product safety, quality and regulatory within all of Land O’Lakes businesses. At Walmart, she will report to Chris Cyrenne, senior vice president, Global Regulatory Compliance.

It is adapting to an increasingly complex global supply chain and changing consumer demands with an innovative mindset in food safety that is exciting to now be part of.”

Mortimore brings more than 30 years of experience in quality and food safety management to her new post. She co-authored a number of books on food safety with particular emphasis on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HAACP) systems.

Mortimore studied Food Science and Technology at Seale-Hayne Agricultural College in Devon, England, and earned her Master of Science from Leicester Univ.
