TECUMSEH, Neb.  – Nebraska law enforcement officials arrested a woman on April 18 following a chicken barn fire at Tecumseh Poultry, a subsidiary of Tyson Foods Inc., on April 5.

Kimberly Bohling, 52, was arrested and booked into Johnson County, Nebraska, jail on second-degree arson, criminal mischief, animal cruelty and burglary charges, according to the Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s office.

A Nebraska State Fire Marshall Agency spokesperson confirmed that approximately 22,000 chickens were lost during the fire.

Tyson Foods acquired Tecumseh Poultry in June 2018. Tecumseh Poultry produces the Smart Chicken brand of air-chilled poultry products.
