PHILADELPHIA – Dietz & Watson is launching a limited-time pop-up retail store called Delishop to celebrate its 80th anniversary. The shop, which will be open from May 1 to July 28, will sell meat and cheese in addition to deli-inspired fashion and novelty items.

The shop’s official grand opening is set for May 3 at 501 South Street in Philadelphia.

“For our 80th anniversary, we wanted to do something special for our neighbors,” said Lauren Eni, vice president of brand strategy at Dietz & Watson. “Philly plays such a key role in who we are as a brand. We’ve been a part of this community for four generations, since 1939, and this pop-up seemed like the perfect opportunity to celebrate with the people of the city we consider part of our family.”

Delishop will sell prepackaged meats, cheeses and snacks as well as a collection of deli-inspired fashion and gear. Included in the deli clothing selections are a “Hot Dog Life” t-shirt, vintage lunch boxes, custom hot dog bathing suits and Dietz Nuts boxers. The products will be available in the store and online.

“This year has been a big one for Dietz & Watson. From the launch of Dietz Nuts to their Real Philly Deli initiative, highlighting the best hometown delis, they continue to find ways to bring people together around great food,” said Steve Red, founder and chief creative officer at RTO+P. “With Delishop, we wanted to build on that great momentum by carving out a space for the brand to actually come alive and connect with people in a completely new way.”

During the three-month timeframe the story will be open, the company will be hosting various events from biweekly tasting and family nights to unique holiday celebrations. Some of the events include:

  • Family Night: On select Tuesdays, Delishop will host a face painter and magician, water ice, music and giveaways for the whole family.
  • Hump Day Hoagie Flights: On select Wednesdays, Delishop will serve different hoagie samples from a rotation of Philly’s favorite hometown delis.
  • Have a Pair: On select Thursdays, Dietz & Watson is partnering with local brewing companies to offer beverage pairings with its meat and cheese offering.
